Default Widest Wheel and Tire on Base C6

I first want to say yes I searched for this answer and really could not find my specific question, if it is out there, I am sorry I could not find it.

I am curious what is the widest rear 19" rim that will fit on a base C6, and what size is the widest tire that will fit said rim? I know this may be limited by the sizes the rims are offered in and same with the tires, plus I do not want it to mess up the active handling.

I found several threads asking about largest tire on stock rim and largest rim such as 20" and stuff, so maybe you guys can help. Also, if you have a pic of this please attach it. I think the 19 X 12 may be the largest but not sure and maybe a 325 rear tire. But I would like to know for sure.

Thanks in advance.

Rear: 19 X 11 w/+73 Offset with a 325/30 tire

You can fit a 18 X 9.5-10 on the front with a 275/35 tire

And to the OP, this is the "practical" widest that looks like they were made for the car. Naturally, you could go even wider, but you would be outside the fender well lip, have inside clearance issues, etc.

...and for stock wheels (e.g. 19x10 and 18x8.5) I have on 305/30/19 and 265/35/18 and the car doesn't feel right at higher speeds. Tire fits on the wheel but it's not optimal. Trust me, I know.

That's changing likely later today.

Car is filthy but I just put on new wheels. Hoped to clean it but it rained right after I got them.

19x10.5 and 18x9. Traction is much better now.

I'll do a formal photo set once weather permits.

This is my opinion also. After reading many threads I thought these sizes would be fine. but they are too wide for the rims. With hard cornering I can feel rear tires squirm on rims. The handling in a corner has changed. I don't like it!

Am I correct in assuming that you guys that managed to mount a 305/30 tire on a 10" wide rim were not using run-flats?

I was told by several vendors that a 275/30 run-flat on an 11" wide wheel was a challenge and some wouldn't even try it. !!!???

That is correct for me, I removed the Run Flats and did the same tire in the Non Run Flat version and went with the 305/30/19 on stock wheel. To go bigger I will need a larger wheel with a different offset because my 305/30/19 already stick out of the wheel well just a tad. That is why I asked about the wheel and tire so I can get the right offset and have them nice and wide but not outside the wheel well.

While having gone back to all of the antique posts/threads these last couple of weeks, I still think I'm no closer to deciding on tires for my '07 (Z51) coupe. This thing has been driving me crazy. Ha, I finally decided on the NBRINGS in the 18/9.0 and 19/10.5 sizes like others have done, but the tires are kicking my azz. Seems it's the Invo Nitto's, Hankooks Ventus V12's, are Michelin Super Sports (which were highly recommended but backordered and can't get?). Now I find out that they will all tend to stick out slightly and even may be a little caddwhompassed on the driver side because of the body/chassis thing??? This ain't easy, going to a little wider than stock setup, but I have to do something fast. 08c6guy (great looking black C6) has the 265/35 -305/19 Hankooks setup on his same size NBRINGS and said that they're great. However, he didn't mention them sticking out or them being a little off on one side. Can't seem to get him again to ask???

Looks great! Ha, like you, if mine isn't freshly washed, detailed to showroom status, I think it's filthy too. Get complimented every day, no matter what the condition is. So . . . .

Have you looked at Nitto tires, the NT05R, the NT05, NT01, the NT01 would be awesome and may be my choice next, plus they are available and you can get awesome deals on them on eBay shipped to your door so no waiting.

This is my C6 with stock fronts and 305/30/19 rears on it, not the best pics but maybe that will help.

I did find these rims in a 19X11 and a 19X12 but not sure if the 19X12 will fit. Does anyone know?

OH, if anyone likes these wheels I found them online reduced for like $120 each in either the 18 or 19 size so man can you save a bunch if you like this Z06 style.

$120 is like crazy cheap if anyone is interested, they are brand new and just reduced. Thing is I don't think they have them reduced in the size I wanted the 19X11 or 19X12 but the stock sizes they do.

Thanks Ghost for your input. I really hadn't looked at any other than the Invo's in the Nitto line. But I may do that now to just see the other options in the line. For years the Invo's have been popular and I almost went with them 5/6 years ago. I'll look into the others though.

Thanks man, I love it, I just cannot stop doing stuff to her tho...lol

Here are the NITTO NT01, they are like a road course or curvy road type tire and look awesome on a Corvette because of the big blocks of rubber just scream grip.. I will go with these all the way around or these on the front and NITTO NT05R Drag Radials on the back, here is pics of both, they look mean!

The NT05R is the bottom right pic, That gives a good look of what I am considering, the bottom left on the front and the bottom right on the rear, if not then the bottom Left on all 4 corners.

Hit me up when I get back in town I'm open to suggestions on how to get that done.

Exactly what happens on stock tire configuration going 305 on a 19x10 rim.

As above...the tires fit fine

305/30/19 on a 10.5: rim
265/35/18 on a 9.0 rim (it did fit the stock 8.5" rim okay for the most part)

I don't mind the dirty look it's a daily driver. If I'm posting photos on a forum I prefer for them to look a bit better.

The best way to describe a black car is a not so hot chick. She's good from far (away) but far from good.

Anyways that's the tire sizes and they are Bridgestone Potenza RE11's. Very sticky tire but I can still light them up in second gear up to 80mph

That's 640rwhp for ya I need a Mickey Thompson to hook.
