Fine Survivor

For the most part, classic Corvettes were driver cars. Which means that the vast majority of them have, well, miles on them. But a select few managed to slip through the cracks, surviving the years with few miles and little wear to show. Among them, this stunning, 15,050-mile 1967 Corvette we spotted over at Mecum Auctions is certainly one of the finest you'll ever see.

First of Many

As the story goes, the second owner of this beauty, Unique Corvettes owner Bob Scorsone, purchased it from the original owner back in 1981 with just 11,124 original miles on the clock. Scorsone had already amassed quite the collection of low-mile Corvettes, but this Marina Blue L71 convertible was his very first 427/435 hp car.

Virtual Calling Card

So instead of selling this particular car, it landed right in Scorsone's personal collection. It remained there for many years, playing a huge role in the business as a virtual calling card of sorts.

Low-Mile Driver?

That isn't to say that Scorsone didn't drive the car over his years of ownership - not by a long shot. As a matter of fact, he damaged the engine while racing a buddy in his own 1966 big block 'Vette.

Full Disclosure

Thus, he had the engine removed and rebuilt. The block had to be decked, but the correct codes were reapplied. This is obviously a big deal in the world of manic Corvette collectors, but a welcome full disclosure from the seller nonetheless.

Good Stuff

Otherwise, there isn't really a bone to pick anywhere with this beautiful car. It has all sorts of good stuff aside from the big block, including a Muncie 4-speed transmission, G81 posi rear-end, and F41 suspension.

Long List

There are plenty of other options to get excited about as well, including the K66 transistorized ignition, U15 speed-warning indicator, power windows, and disc brakes, N11 off-road exhaust, Soft Ray-tinted glass, clear floor mats, AM/FM radio and Rally wheels.

Fully Documented

This special Corvette also comes with a long list of documentation and accolades. The original tank sticker is still intact, and it even has a mileage affidavit from 1981. The original dealer paperwork and owner's manual come with it as well.

Shining Star

The amazingly original 'Vette also secured NCRS Top Flight Awards in 2015 and even rides on the original Uniroyal Laredo 7.75x15 tires. Altogether, it's a very complete package that promises to be the shining star in someone else's collection.

Rarified Air

Unrestored, original Corvettes have become big business these days, replacing the once highly sought after 100-point restorations as kings of the Corvette hill. And in that rarified category, they just don't get much better than this amazing '67.
