C8 Corvette vs C7

Corvette Forum member headed to Bowling Green to snag some pretty awesome comparison pics for us to enjoy.

It was pretty clear from the start that the C8 Corvette was going to be a major styling departure from the C7. Which is to be expected given the radical shift from a front-engine layout to a mid-engine configuration. But since we’re still waiting on the first production C8s to be delivered, we can’t really compare apples-to-apples, at least visually. Until now, that is. Corvette Forum member jagamajajaran recently shared these amazing pictures from Sebastian Pietrzyk, which he was able to obtain at the source.

“Thanks to Sebastian Pietrzyk for these awesome comparison shots. He took his his black C7 Corvette to the Bowling Green Assembly Plant and found a black C8 Stingray in the parking lot with room enough around it to get these shots. Thank you, Sebastian! NOTE: I forgot to add this initially, but Sebastian’s C7 has been lowered on the stock lowering bolts.”

Pretty awesome, indeed. Even if the lowered C7 Corvette kind of makes the C8 look like it’s riding a bit high. Regardless, the pics drew quite a positive reaction from other members.

“The C7 is a great car. And the C8 improved on that,” said Zora Vette.

“The C7 is holding its ground very well,” added pietro c7. “I can’t wait to park my C8 next to my C7.”

Unsurprisingly, many others feel like the C7 actually holds up quite well next to the C8 Corvette.

“I don’t own a C7, but I am considering one within the next month or two,” said Back of me hand. “Or, I may wait another year and get a C8. I think the C7 really looks great even next to the C8. It certainly holds its own. I think the exhaust looks tremendously better on the C7, and really just the rear in general. Probably because it just looks more clean and less busy. Wheels can be easily swapped in the aftermarket, but the wheel options on the C7 are also better. Other than these items, I think they both look great in their own way and will be happy to own either. I am looking to get a convertible, and the hard top on the C8 is really pulling me towards that model. That and there is just something about new… new tech, new model, new interior, etc.”

Opinions vary greatly on which Corvette looks better, as we would have expected. So we want to know what you think. Are you a big fan of the new-look C8? Or do you prefer the more conventional appearance of the C7? Head over here and let us know!
