INSANE: Drunk Corvette Owner Revs His Engine Until it EXPLODES!
We’ve seen some pretty dumb things over the years, but this Corvette owner may have just set a new standard for stupid.
Pretty much all of us have been there at least once in our lives – perhaps we drank a little too much and said or did something stupid, which – in select cases – might just come back to haunt us later on. However, some take things too far after having one too many drinks, such as hopping behind the wheel and endangering the public and ourselves by driving when they clearly shouldn’t be. That wasn’t entirely the case with the Corvette owner depicted in this video from A&E’s series Neighborhood Wars, but in this case, it resulted in some pretty nasty carnage, regardless.
According to the video, some folks that live in this area were woken up by the Corvette owner revving his engine while it was parked in the parking lot, and proceeded to record the incident while also calling police. This would be a big annoyance at any time of the day, but this happened in the middle of the night, when those neighbors were sleeping. The person recording notes that this had been going on for a solid ten minutes, and we can clearly hear the poor Corvette as it quite literally cries for help.
It isn’t long before we can see smoke coming from underneath the hood, which is followed by an explosion and even more billowing smoke. Soon, sparks begin flying out of the exhaust tips in dramatic fashion, and shortly thereafter, the entire car erupts into flames. At this point, the Corvette owner nonchalantly exits the vehicle and begins to walk away – at least, for a second, before he turns around and heads back to the burning sports car.
As bystanders yell for the man to get away from the car, he eventually heeds that advice, a mere split second before the Corvette explodes yet again. The flames quickly spread to the car next to the Corvette, making one of its tires explode, and at this point, bystanders are obviously worried that the fire will reach nearby homes. Thankfully, the fire department arrived before that happened.
As for the Corvette owner, he was reportedly drunk, but got very lucky in this case, as he only suffered a second-degree burn to his foot. That wasn’t the case legally speaking, however, as was charged with negligent burning and endangering the safety of people or property – charges that were strangely dropped. Regardless, the man did at least suffer one big loss, as his Corvette is now toast, literally speaking.
