Kerbeck Corvette

Ciocca Dealerships acquired three dealerships in Atlantic City, NJ on June 28. Kerbeck Corvette is now Ciocca Corvette of Atlantic City.

Kerbeck Corvette is possibly the most well-known Corvette dealer in the land. They sell a lot of Corvettes. Since 1994 they have been recognized for being the world’s largest Corvette dealership. Even if you were not buying, and just wanted to look Kerbeck Corvette was the destination to go. You could checkout just about every Corvette configuration you could imagine. What also made them popular was that unlike many other dealers they would sell you a car at MSRP. Even the super-hot C8 you could spec and buy at sticker price at Kerbeck Corvette. We sure hope that policy stays in place.

On June 28 Ciocca Dealerships announced that they have purchased three dealerships in Atlantic City. Kerbeck Chevrolet Buick GMC, Kerbeck Cadillac and Kerbeck Corvette were all part of the deal. The dealerships are now known as Ciocca Chevrolet Buick GMC of Atlantic City, Ciocca Cadillac of Atlantic City and Ciocca Corvette of Atlantic City. It is going to be difficult to get used to the fact that Kerbeck Corvette is no more.

Ciocca Dealerships CEO and founder Gregg Ciocca spoke of the recent acquisition. “Everyone is excited to become involved in the community and meet our new customers and team members in Atlantic City. The energy and growth in this area made this an exciting opportunity to add to our family of dealerships.” Ciocca said. Ciocca now has 24 dealerships in total and 16 unique brands. In December of 2020, they also acquired Kerbeck Subaru just outside of Atlantic City. Makes us wonder if the Kerbeck family is getting out of the dealership game. Or perhaps now they just want to focus on the higher end brands such as Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin.

Hopefully to those of us that still want to buy Corvettes the business remains status quo. “Our goal is to continue the excellent service Kerbeck provided to its customers over the past 100 years,” Ciocca said. “We look forward to delivering that top-quality service to new existing customers in the years ahead.” If we begin to see dealer markups on the C8 we will know for sure that Ciocca is changing the business model. However, we need to give them a chance and hold on to the hope that at least one dealership will not try to gouge customers. There is no word yet of any personnel changes at Ciocca Corvette, although there is likely to be at least some change we would think.

So, what do you all think of this? Are you excited for a fresh owner to come in? Worried that everything that was good with Kerbeck Corvette is going to be lost? Don’t really care one way or the other as long as you can get a C8 allocation at MSRP? However you feel, let us know your thoughts in the Corvette Forum forums.
