Track Time Tuesday: Return of the Official ‘CorvetteForum Fast List’
The CorvetteForum Fast List tracks some of the most savage Corvettes to hit the quarter-mile.
The Corvette Forum community is a great place for all types of enthusiasts. In addition to a wide range of topics dedicated to every generation of Corvette, the Forums also have special interest groups. It is no surprise that America’s greatest sports car is wildly popular as a drag car.
For some time, the Drag Racing forums have been a great resource for those who like burning up the quarter-mile. Members can post their race results, trap speed, reaction time, driving tips and techniques, and more. Drivers can also post their time on the Corvette Forums timeslip database. And one highlight is The N/A Fast List.
As the name implies, this is reserved for those naturally aspirated Corvettes. The N/A Fast List was started about a decade ago; managed by the ever stalwart forum member RobZ. And with a 9-second 2003 C5 Corvette Z06; he wasn’t just the guardian of the Fast List, he is also a member.
Now, we prepare to ring in a new year. As we also look ahead to a new (and hopefully less surreal) 2021; we also await a new racing season, a new fleet of C8s, and a new N/A Corvette Fast List. The new man in charge is Rimfire. No stranger to ferocious speeds, his 1969 C3 ‘Vette “Time Machine” is an intimidating BBC record breaker.
Rimfire recently posted the updated Naturally Aspirated Corvette Fast List. And he will continue the Top 30; a leaderboard of our members fastest passes on the 1/2-, 1/4-, or 1/8-mile. Naturally aspirated Corvette racers are welcome and encouraged to post pictures, videos, car info, times. Best times will be posted to the Top 30; and then the competition–and possible grudge matches–heat up.
The rules are simple. Any ‘Vette, any year, any motor, any weather; just NO power adder.
Car and driver listed only once, unless you have more than 1 car.
Please list:
Car/year
Motor type/size
Suspension
Tires
Approx. race weight
Transmission type
DA if known
Track
ET and mph
We encourage every N/A Corvette racer to join in the new Fast List fun, and be part of some truly memorable track action.
And let’s all hope 2021 brings lots of epic shootouts, crazy-fast passes, and Corvettes doing what they were designed to do.
