Two-Owner 7K-Mile C6 ZR1 Makes Every Street Red-Hot!
Draped in Crystal Red Metallic and packed with tons of features, 2010 ZR1 looks for more fuel to burn, more roads to drive.
Just 11 years ago, the C6-era Corvette welcomed back the ZR1 into the family. Dropping the dash, the ‘Vette dubbed “Blue Devil” first roared into showrooms in 2009 with the supercharged LS9 V8 under the hood. The top-tier Corvette carried its driver through the open road at a top speed of 205 mph, offering an experience few could match.
Recently, we happened upon a stunning example of the C6-era ZR1 on Bring a Trailer, one ready for a new driver to deliver excitement on the highway.
The original owner purchased the Crystal Red Metallic ZR1 at Coughlin Chevrolet back in 2010. The keys wound up with the current dealer in 2020, waiting for the right new owner to come along. The 3ZR Performance Package brings carbon ceramic brakes to the party, plus MagneRide and dual-zone climate.
Of course, the star attraction is the LS9. Output back in 2010 for the 6.2-liter V8 amounted to 638 horses and 604 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transaxle delivers the goods to the 20-inch wheels out back, smoking up the Michelins at will. Plus, the supercharger’s so pretty, it lives under a greenhouse built into the hood. Gotta let the world know you’re a boss, right?
Inside, the ZR1’s odometer shows just 7,000 miles logged upon the LS9. The leather seating’s ready to hold you and a friend in place while letting it all hang out, too. And if you need a break from the V8’s symphony of destruction, the Bose system’s there to play your favorites from Rob Zombie, Brian Wilson and Kid Rock. There’s even a navigation system with Bluetooth to guide you to all of the best places to show off the monster ‘Vette.
Back in 2010, the ZR1 sold for $122,250 at Coughlin. That’s around $147,500 today. If you can’t wait for a new ZR1, though, this one might do. After all, the engine’s up front, for one. Plus, it’s already a classic, one whose status will grow over time. It’s a little red Corvette everyone’ll lust after everywhere it goes.
