Best tool to cut speaker mounting rings?

looks like I will need to get a jasper jig.
I have seen some wood DIY jigs. Problem is you have to use the routed to make a circle for the router to sit on. Kind of an egg before the chicken kind of thing.

Naw. Just need a peg and a piece of wood to stick on it and to the router make the radius of the circle.

My Jasper jig cuts are perfect every time... and can be adjusted in 1/16" increments. That makes for a lot of different combinations when making speaker boxes, like when making the speaker hole, then coming in on top with another mounting board to 'flush mount' the sub face. Do the cut slightly bigger to account for carpet, vinyl, etc... good stuff.
