Bought a new surround system with wireless adapter to stream internet content and can't get a strong enough signal where my TV is (router is in my bedroom office, the furthest from my TV). Go figure...now I have to figure something out before next week. Always something.

you really need wired ethernet for video IMO. Even though N wireless is faster than internet, it just isnt' as stable especially over long runs. Can you run cat5 out a window and around the house to another room??

I updated my new AppleTV today, and discovered that MLB is offering to show live games on the device. Why doesn't ALMS do the same thing? Hell, I'd pay $50/year to watch all the ALMS races (well, I'd want it to include Le Mans, but whatever). Bypass the leach cable networks and go straight to the viewers.

wanted to share this...if you have a PS3, Xbox360, DirecTV DVR, or even and iPhone/Ipad, you can download a free demo of Playon (planon.tv). It is a media streamer that will stream ESPN3 throughout your home network via DLNA.

Long story short, if you have any of the above devices, you can stream to your TV via them instead of sitting in front of your PC all day. With the iPhone App, you can even watch it on the go (although it pretty flaky over 3G)

I don't know how long the free trial is now, so I'd wait until mid week to try it!

Thanks David! Fortunately I get ESPN3 from my ISP but it would be nice to see it on a screen that is a bit bigger.

Playon works great, I've used it for over 2 years, streaming local content (kids cartoons, P90X workouts), HULU, Netlix etc around the house. I hope ESPN3 proves to be resilient.....I've never streamed anything for 12hrs straight!

**I see somewhere that it is a 14day trial, so download and experiment before next weekend!

Last year I found a pirated vid stream from Le Mans, had it on for the full time. I seem to recall one or two hiccups, but nothing major. The suck thing was that the resolution was so degraded that it looked like *** on anything bigger than 1/2 my laptop screen.

ESPN3, at the moment, via playon, looks a bit like "stretchovision" SD. From a reasonable seating distance, it's very watchable, but I'll miss SPEED HD!

I'll be doing my best to record the race next week......

So, has anyone figured out if replays will be available on ESPN3 after the live airing? I'm sure I'm not the only one who won't be able to watch the whole race in one sitting.

other shows are available for watching later, but dealing with finding where you were in a 12hr show would be daunting. If they break it up into segments, not problem, but I don't know yet.

you can watch the computer only espn3 by connecting an svga cable from your computer to your tv if your tv has the 15 pin PC port. You will also need to get a male-male mini cable and connect it from from your headphone port on the computer to your receiver's port for a portable audio device
