Kroil is your friend on all your sticky/stuck cables. Couldn't move any of the vent/heater cables on my 61 when I first got it. A little Kroil on the free end every day for several days freed them up, lubed with 3 in one after they were free, work like new now. I'm thinking this should also work on the hood release cables. Just put a few drops on the latch ends every few days, Kroil is known as "the oil that creeps" and it surely seems to do so. This is no doubt as good as removing and lubing them but it will help a great deal.
