From your pic it appears there are bumper mounted brackets, then the main load carrying U-shaped member support piece bolted to that. .

From the U shaped support bar does a center positioned longitudinal bar (or some such) tie the U shaped support bar to the rear end camber adjustment bracket? . . Very much interested in this design. . .
Sure. As someone mentioned in a previous post, the Valley unit pulls from the four bolts attaching the rear spring to the frame mounted differential. It's hinged at that point so with removal of a hitch pin at the bumper mounted "U" bracket at the license plate, the pull bar will pivot to the ground, allowing the lid of the spare tire compartment to be lowered as well. Here's a pic of the release at the rear "U" bracket . . .

Here's a pic as well of the attachment at one side of the "U" bracket. Each side is attached by a bolted link by removing one of the bumper bolt attaching bolts, no holes are required to be drilled in the bumpers, and the installation can be completely reversed with no changes to the original construction.

I don't have a good photo of the attachment of the drawbar at the rear differential, but there is essentially two separate pieces bolted, one to each side of the spring attaching bolts, and the drawbar is connected with a single through bolt between these two which allows the drawbar to pivot down. Clear as mud?? Here's a halfway explanative photo that may help, although it was taken for another purpose . . . . .

Hope this helps somewhat . . . . let me know if I can help further!

Found a pair of bumpers with the holes but no hitches must have scraped them.

Well, thanx to VERY generous Ron (Cruzmeisters), I have a hitch for my Wife's '61 on it's way here and she'll be able to tow her C1 Corvette go-kart on a small trailer... Much thanx to all of you who gave me advice and especially to Ron who made it happen...

Default trailer hitches

Well I finally found mine hitches....

I have one that bolts to the rear bumpers (requires holes in bumpers) for 63-67?

And the other has stamped 68-71 and is made by Draw Tite, probably fits other models.

Then I have two brackets that I am not sure but looks like previous post that allow the hitch to pivot? must be for another hitch?

I really need to go thru and get rid of a bunch of stuff from a corvette salvage yard I bought out in the early 90's.....

Not much left, seat belts, pulleys, brackets, etc

I'd be interested in any photos for hitches (fitted and stand alone) for a C1 as well as dimensions for fabrication.

Mick
Tom Parsons has had pics here of his hitch, seems to be pretty straight forward to make... heck, even i made one out of an old drawbar from the junk yard.

Default Hitch for a 67 Coupe

A buddy & I bought out a corvette salvage yard in the 90's sold almost everything but have some small items left over, seat belts, pulleys, water pumps etc....

Wish the internet would have been around then it would have been a lot easier than swap meets...
I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd take a chance and see if you still have a hitch for a 67 available?

Thanks, Ed

Cool thread! That valley unit appears to be what I ended up with on my '66.....I'm keeping it as it really sets the car apart.

I have the one still attached to the bumper which is now removed that was on my 67 when I bought it in 1974. I'll get some pictures this weekend and post.
