Those are cool
What do you have to do to download, or is that possible?

Looks like only "friends" of the album owner can save. Normally you can right-mouse-click on an image and use the Save Picture As... feature but that feature is not available with these images.

Correct, but you can highlight them and then copy and paste to a Word doc. and save them all into a folder.

Agreed. I often use Alt-Print Screen to copy images, paste them into Paint, crop them, and save them as JPGs.

that is a very low resolution (quality) way of doing it. screen capture is higher quality.

It's very interesting to look at some of the details of pilot line cars. For instance, photo 37/38 I don't see any opening for the floor vents. Photo 73, shows a big tank NO3 option, photo 114 shows a e-brake handle not used on Vettes, but some other GM car, 114B shows the vin tag and it looks like the pilot run has exceeded 9 cars. The last digit looks like something other than a zereo, and last, 115 the FI unit has not flags on it. I suspect many other anomilies exist when your putting your first fun together of anything, expecially cars. Thanks for posting. Dennis

Back then the paint wasn't a health risk because the nicotine coating on their lungs neutralized the paint before it could do any damage!

I'm glad to see so many enjoying my "find" on the internet. I thought these pictures were very cool. I've had a a nice collection of assembly line photos saved for a long time but these I had never seen before!

Would love to hear from JohnZ on these also.

Those photos were shot by Don Sudnik of GM Photographic in late spring, 1962, during the 1963 Pilot build, and are among the very few of the 1963-1967 St. Louis era that still survive since the GM Photographic operation was disbanded years ago; I have all of them, and used many of them in my articles in "Corvette Enthusiast" magazine. When GM Photographic was disbanded, their work and files were outsourced for about ten years, then brought back in-house as the GM Media Archives; unfortunately, thousands of images/negatives were lost in the transition, including ALL of the St. Louis material from the midyear era.

They are great and I have a set also, but you need to be careful in making assumptions as to originality in regular production. This was a pilot operation to assess the needs of the regular production line, and procedures, parts and finishes, are not necessarily the same as regular production.
