This is also a 3755538 head. It seems they made different configurations. It is thought this was made for a truck and had bosses for items found on larger trucks. I am just relaying info I found researching online but it seems plausible.

looks like two different heads, left head on photo shows accessory boss not used until somewhere in 68 the other twin smoke stacks are period correct buuuut the casting number and dates tell the real story.

Some 58-59 and perhaps 60 cylinder heads have accessory holes for the air pump that was part of the factory air ride suspension system.

These heads are pretty hard to find, but not necessarily desirable.

The 1957 539 heads, correct for 57 Corvette with FI, are fairly common. These same heads were also used on passenger cars with power pack single four barrel.

Here are the heads I have. These are 59 corvette fi heads / marine. I guess chris craft tapped the water ports ?

Those might be boat heads; I'm not familiar with marine engines.

I am familiar with FI engines. Those are absolutely, positively NOT FI heads.

I'd love to see that proof.

Every solid lifter, injected engine made from '57 through '60 that I've inspected has had single pyramid "Power Pak" heads. I've inspected a lot of injected engines.

Don't know where that listing came from, but it's incorrect. Those 3755538 heads were NEVER used on ANY Corvette.

That was NOT a "Corvette motor" - it was a Marine 283, built specifically for marine service/conversion, which will be identified by a unique machine stamp on the block front pad. There were three or four different configurations of Marine 283's in those days, sold to Chris-Craft, Crusader Marine, Graymarine, and many other marine users/converters. The only relationship between the Marine 283 and a Corvette 283 was that they both had 8 cylinders.

Default 538 Heads

Looks to me from the color of the engine in these pics I would say it is a Truck Specific engine,,The truck parts don't usually show up in any of the usual engine parts books
