Glove box door
My '66 300hp has a white glove box door. I've looked at several other '66s and, as far as I remember, they all had a metallic-looking door.
I'm wondering if the 300hp model came with a white door and the higher horsepower ones came with a metallic door. Is that correct? Maybe the other 300hp cars I saw had a re-pop door and I haven't see any originals except my own.

ALL came with the bare metal look. Someone painted yours. I have also seen a wood grain insert

They are all brushed aluminum as OEM. All of the major vendors have repair kits available. It's one of the cooler features on the Midyear interior, you gotsta' fix this one !

Not what I wanted to hear. Incorrect lock and painted door.
Any way to tell if I have a '66 door? If not, I'll look for a used complete one.

Not completely original but actually not that bad looking at all. Fix it when you have time and nothing more important on the car to fix first (mech/elect/brakes) and enjoy the car in the meantime.

Just a thought.....make sure that that white film isn't just a protective film on top of the correct buffed aluminum panel. Like some stainless items come with new.
