Default Body Color Stinger Hood on a '64

I needed more engine clearance so I bought a nice repop stinger hood to put on my '64. I'm thinking about painting the entire hood body color and skipping the '67 two tone paint scheme.

Anyone have pics of cars like this? Google wasn't very helpful.

Thanks,
Patrick

Thanks guys! My car is red. Looks like the "scoop" opening is often painted black. I guess that would make sense.

Here are a few...

I'm personally inclined to feel the stripe is as iconic as the scoop itself...

Good luck... GUSTO

I'm old and I'm happily married. I'm not dead, I'm not blind, and I'm not gay. Fingerprints wipe off real easy. Whether the fabric is soft enough to not scratch the paint is something that would have to be determined.

Your satin black stinger does look good! But for my '64 I'm liking the body color better. Was the opening for your scoop body color?

Agreed that the fabric would require a very close inspection 😁

I was thinking along those lines, but wasn't sure whether she was a model or some member's daughter or granddaughter. Figured I'd play it safe.

If your putting the stinger hood on a non 67, my personal preference is all body color. Makes a statement that you not trying to pass the car off as a 67, but instead just appreciate or need the design(for clearance)

Based on this statement, I’m assuming a stinger hood could not be ordered from the factory without the 2-color paint scheme, correct?

Yep, that pretty much sums up my thinking on this.

This thread has helped solidified my decision. I like the look of the body color stinger in the photos that have been posted. Thanks everyone!
