I have Wheel Vintiques 15x7 OEM chrome wheels on my 57. 235/70 15 tires. I think they look great. Obviously if you use real reversed wheels you may have an offset/back space issue. I don’t remember the back space on my wheels. But i can find out if needed. This pic doesn’t really show much but it’s the best i have at the moment.

Our 56 has painted, GM, mid-70s 15x7 wheels from GM A-body station wagons on the rear with 225-75 tires.
The fronts are GM 15x6, 225-75 tires.
I don't know what the off set is, but it is what ever was standard with these GM wheels. No clearance issues.

Rear, 15x7

Front, 15x6

Well, I'm sorry you don't like it, but each to his own. If you prefer, I'll delete the pictures.
For MANY, MANY years, I have lusted over owning a 57 RPO579D (Airbox) car. There is NO WAY that I could ever afford one------------------------so I sorta made my own Airbox clone with a repo airbox, FI, healthy engine, 4sp, HD brakes and susp and posi rear. That's as close as I will ever get to owning an Airbox car.

By the way, I was only trying to respond (with pictures) to the original question regarding 15x7 wheel clearance on an early Corvette.

It's not totally red inside. It has an Al Knoch red/black interior.

you need not make a single excuse for this car, this car couldn’t look any better than it does with the body color wheels and poverty caps, and it’s FI, you couldn’t ask for a better look in a solid axle.

I must agree! That is what I have mounted on my '60. These are 8" chrome reverse wheels and baby moons from Speedway. Was going to go with 7" but they were back ordered so bought the 8" I am very happy with these. They stick out about an inch from the wheel well and look very cool.

Hotter than a popcorn fart from the 60's. I like them now as I did then.
