When I bought my 65, it had the rear exhaust. Completing a frame off restoration, and it's time to put on the rocker panels, but the front part of the body has the circular cutout for a side exhaust. Does this mean the car was originally side exhaust? Not sure how to secure the front of the rocker panel because the screw hole in the panel is in this circular opening. I see there is a rocker panel front bracket, but not sure how this should work. It's been over 10 years since I started this, and just don't remember what it was like when I took it apart. Any help would be appreciated.
If your car originally had under car exhaust the front fender extensions would look like this.
If side pipes were originally ordered with the car, or fitted sometime by a prior owner, the lower flange would have been cut off approximately flush with the middle step. The front of the rocker trim (with under car exhaust) was secured to the lower part of the tab with a single screw and sheet metal nut.
