I tried PMing you with no reply. If you were refering to me as being a troll, you are mistaken. I went back and edited my post on whom I was reffering. I have already talked to Jim about this. Sorry for the confusion.

...I think these are very neat & rare cars. I have seen several 1975 "SPEC" paint cars. One '75 coupe in my area from several years ago that was a "SPEC" car had in it's original paperwork where it was painted by the dealer "1976 Cadillac Firethorn Red".

...I've seen some for judging where they are judged "in primer" because they were "dealer painted" cars, not "factory" ones.

Very interesting car for sure and a great story. Take good care of it. I would love to see some pics of the car when you get them.

I seen a 74 Vette coupe with the spec trim tag that was black from the factory. I guess these cars were the COPO cars of the 70's.

Default 72 Black vert

Did you see any factory paperwork showing the black paint on the 74 corvette?

A fellow member posted a copy of my tank sticker of my 75 vert some time back. It should still be in the archives. It is one of my favorite cars, in my collection. It was also painted black, black top, and black interior.

Default Black 1972

A friend of mine just purchased a original paint Black 1972 vert with with the whole word special on the trim tag where the paint code would be. The vin is 44 cars from the one posted here in 2007.

How rare is this ?

Default Why not black?

I can fully understand the issue of wavy body panels for not painting the car black. But, wouldn't the same issue occur with dark blue and dark green?

Vettebuyer ,
I have a hard time reading your replies to a lot of threads on the Forum due to your nitpicking comments. I think it's more distracting to read those posts.

I say that respectfully.

Jim,
Your 72 has an incredible story behind it. Wish I had that kind of documentation with some of my cars. Would love to have some paperwork that was touched (literally or figuratively) by a GM president.
Would love to see some pics.

Cool pics. Are those painted over stickers on the door, or is it simply just the outline of the glue where they used to be?

Again, pretty neat stuff. Most of the supposed 'original' black/spec/primer cars are found to be phonies, yours looks to be the real deal.

What single 4 barral carb option gave you 435 horses ?
