Default Stinger hoods on C3's; Calling for Pics

I'm contemplating adding a stinger hood on to my 75, and have been for sometime. I was wondering if those of you who have them would be kind enough to post a few pix and discuss the pros and cons of the modification. (eg. Do the Ecklers hoods for the year you have fit well? Or how is the visibility compromised? Did you make your scoop functional? or Is it just for show?)

As always, many thanks in advance.

Mine was on my car (72) when I got it..it is a really light weight aftermarket hood like a Motion type..It is open in the front and back, missing the air-box...No problems with visibility.fit was very poor..but I still Love it!

Got mine from Eckler's a few years and the front of it wasn't open, had to grind some away in the back for the wipers to work, yes the fit was poor but I also love it on the car.QUOTE=bananashark;1583117222]

Mine was from Ecklers also. Took some work to get it aligned and lost a little clearance above the carb, but I think it was well worth it!

Sorry it's not more presentable yet, but here's an early smallblock hood with a grafted motion scoop. It came with the car, so I don't know where to buy them...it is fiberglass.

Planning a single color-job in silver.

For reference: it's a Dart SHP block with AFR 195, 23 degree heads mounted on 'energy suspension' poly motor mounts. The intake is an RPM Air Gap with Powerjection III (with the suplied heat barrier spacer) and a 3x14 air cleaner on a flat bottom base. The air cleaner top is billet aluminum (approx 1/4" thick) and I've got about 3/4" clearance between the top cover and scoop. Also, the body is mounted on post '72 poly body mounts.

r,
Rob

Looks good Postal123, could possibly be the one from Speedway.

Not quite done yet but getting there. Open at front only with the stinger grafted to a 70 hood.

Do a quick google search, you will find plenty.

Here is one with 1980s....I just typed in the first number I thought of as I didn't remember what year you were looking for.

Thank guys... Super Buick Guy, your pic looks like a mid 70's hood with the scoop added. It looks good, looks like what mine would look like if I added the scoop only to the existing hood.

The scoop added to 80's or early 70's looks more like the stinger I have in mind, as does the Ecklers hood.

I guess I'm still trying to figure just how much work the Eckelrs hood would be versus how much work it is and what the results would look like if I just add the scoop.

very little modifying to get it to function as intended..only had to measure and drill the latch mounting holes. It sat perfect.
