If these cars did not command a premium price for 'block-stamping proof' of factory linage, no one would ever consider restamping a block. Oh, except the NCRS folks who need to make their replacement block LOOK original. There would be "deductions" otherwise....

sorry but the stamps are wrong, they aren't deep enough, nor are they the correct font IMO
btw, its VERY easy to age iron, leave a un-lined fuel line in your engine bay that leaks hydrocarbons, give it a year without air circulation, high humidity and it will look decades old

The pics where the 'CGZ' letters are uneven, not on the same line, and have odd spacing are restamps....no question. Whether the engine blocks are original/correct for the car depends on what documentation is available to prove that the number stamped into the VIN pad is correct. Still, it would be very unusual for most of the pad numbers to be done at the factory, but a few to be re-stamped and still be legitimate. I am dubious of those shown in this thread with "unusual" configurations.
he V022OCGZ is a certified REAL STAMP and it backs up the case that there are individually stamped suffix codes THIS IS what was being illustrated to the forum...
