That is why most of us have gone with mustang T5s. They can be documented as to what they came out of it is very difficult to do with the chevy T5. You really have to see it being pulled from a v8 chevy to know what you are getting.

It was just a passing thought but I'll spend a little time tonight reading over that.

Easily.....No, but then anything can be done with enough patience and money.
First of all, the Viper unit is no longer being produced. Tremec replaced it with the TR-6060 (or the T56 Magnum to the aftermarket). You might be able to find one locally, but getting parts for it is getting harder every day and eventually, will dry up.
The Magnum is physically larger than say a TKO, so you would be doing some tunnel surgery to make it fit the C2 platform. You would have to swap the input shaft as the Viper input is too long to fit in any GM bell housing and the tip of the input is a lot larger than the GM pilot bearing. Along with the input shaft swap, you can either use an adpater plate and then the stock Muncie bell housing or call QuickTime and use one of their T56 specific bell housings. The Viper is also an electronic speedometer output only so you either have to run electronic gauges or get a Cable X box from Abbott Industries to convert the electronic pulse to a mechanical output.
Some guys will tell you it might fit if you alter the cross member, but by doing that, you will have to lower the tail housing so much that the driveline angles will be compromised and I don't think there is enough room to raise the tail back up that far to correct it.
If your car is a factory 4 speed car, you will have to make the cross member removeable as the length of the T56 is too long to get it installed otherwise. If the body is off the car you can get it in there that way, but that would be a pain to do that everytime you had to get to the clutch or flywheel.
Let me know if I can be of any more help.
