They're fun, but big fat and heavy for that power-weight ratio. I'll take my R1 any day.

Go for a Busa. Wait, what is this off topic. Your wife would never let you sell the 78 anyway

Yep, big, fat and heavy just like my Vette! Gotta love it! It's the perfect bike: it's so dangerous that I'll never let myself get into trouble with it (unlike the V-rod that I was pushing sweeping turns with at 100), and it's ALL fun! No my wife won't let me sell the '78, but my 70 might be enough!!! :D

502 with a blower for a little more, but I'll probably not even afford the 350. Besides, you can't even apply the full power of the 350 to the rear wheel!

I'm too small for something THAT BIG but they certainly are neat. You can even get them with a 502, but luckily for me that would make much more sense sitting between some fiberglass fendors :D . Keep the vette even if just for rain  .

Those things are wild. They usually have one or two of them at Corvette Expo in Knoxville. This past fall there was a 502 version. I can`t imagine all that torque in something like that. Good luck and be careful.

I used to ride and have seen those things - I would not want to have one fall over on me. Nice simple transmission though if I remember - only one or 2 gears?

I saw one at the AMI dyno shoot-out with NOS. It's not for me, but I'll bet it would move out!

I can't even afford the $31K for the smallblock version, much less an extra 10K for a 502. Besides, there's no benefit to the 502 since you can burn the tire off with the 350 at the first light!
All three manufactureres (Boss Hoss, Daytona V-8, and Big Brute SuperCycles) use a 2-speed automatic with reverse now. The old one-speed with vacuum assisted clutch is a thing of the past.
I know my wife will never let me have one, but I put it on my priority list just in case!!!
Be careful? That's the ONLY way to ride! How do you think I got 47 years of riding under my belt with my skull intact???

Go for the three wheeler with the C2 rear end fiberglass..Have them both!
Too much bike for me I'll stick with my Electra glide.
P.S. Did you see the John Deere boss hog...now if I can only attach my bush hog...hmmmmm

Forget the three wheeler; I gave up tricycles when I was five! But seriously, the thing is not a bit harder to handle than my Harley. Using a motorcycle tire on the rear is a quantum improvement over the early models with a car tire on the rear!!! Most of the guys were having trouble handling it simply because they were afraid of it - kind like when you first ride a big motorcycle and you're afraid to lean it over. That's the best way to drop a bike, trying to defy the laws of physics by making it turn without leaning it over. It was easy to hold, turned tight easily by push-steering, and felt comfortable at full throttle, but we only had a one block distance before we had to turn around. So I doubt I saw more than 3000 rpm. I'd sure like to see what kind of surge it gets between 3000 and 5000!

I've seen a boss at Road Atlanta runoofs years ago ... WOW ... looked real close ... took pics ... after standing beside it and later looking at pics I realized the VERY big fellow who owned it is just right for it ... not me though. Here's a link to a similar concept but using aluminum V8 from early 60's Buick / later Rover. Keep your shark, add an HD.

The John Deere model was cool, but I'd prefer an International Cub Cadet model! As for being too big, I found it surprisingly easy to handle at low speeds and effortless at high speed, and I'm not big by any means at 6 foot even and 165 pounds! I could turn it in as small a radius as my Harley and just as easily. Of course I was comfortable with it as soon as I got on and did see an awful lot of guys that were awfully scared of it. I had a forty year riding experience advantage on most of them though. I'll probably get a used Valkyrie as my next bike though because my wife is DEAD set against my getting a Boss Hoss or equivalent, and I've had her for 34 years and ain't interested in giving her up!!! :D
