Bolts right in place of the TH350. The only things I modified were the shifter bracket at the transmission and the 200-4R dipstick tube.

When swapping out a th400 with a 200r4,on a '71, what mods have to be done also?

Nothing. Swapped my TH400 for a 2004R. In my 72 it bolted right in. I did use a different dipstick as I recall, and had to buy a TH350 tail shaft.
