Those pipes look BEAUTIFUL! I'm glad that you went with polish compounds. I was under the impression that you were trying to buff "buffed" stainless. It all depends on the chromed layer.
Either way, your hard work PAID OFF BIG TIME! They look STUNNING! Good work!
