WHERE DO I START TO START
My Car died last night and I could not get it started. I tried to start it would ony turn over and I woud smell gas, the fuel pump would be sonding normally , evry thing sonded and looked fine as far as I can see. Wher do I start to get it started. :confused: :confused: :confused:

Pull a plug, connect the wire, ground it to the chassis (jumper cables work good for this). Have someone turn motor over (key) and see if you are getting spark. Pray it's not the Optispark. Probably is, or at least that's my guess. Best of luck!

I had the optispark changed out about 1 1/2 year ago, now that you mention it I remember when my last one went out I had the same syptoms. I thought it would last a little longer that.

Ennis,
Take the coil feed off the opti and lay it by the block. Try to turn the motor over and see if you get spark. If you get spark, then it is most likely the opti. Also check the electrical connections going to the opti to make sure they are all seated properly.
