Default 1984 Windshield Wiper Switch Question

My windshield wiper switch only works on the "Low" and "High" settings. When it is in the "Delay" position, nothing happens.... Any ideas?

Thanks!

Mine has the same problem. The switch does look really flimsy so I'm leaning toward a bad switch. The switch feels like if I press too hard I'll break it type of feel.

More than likely, this is not a awitch problem, but rather a ciruit board problem. Try your windshield washer. If it doesn't work either, that would point to a board probem as well. The board is part of the cover of the wiper motor, and is not a serviceable part. Replacements are expensive.

Mine has same issue. Replaced the switch- no change. Leaning towards motor or circuit board.

I had similar problem...
Replaced the wiper switch, the circuit board ..no change
I tested mine by turning the wipers on and tapping on the wiper motor with a screw driver and it worked..for awhile...
Later I replaced the wiper motor..and no problems since

Stay safe

My wiper on my `87 is crappy also. Usualy when I shut it off, it won`t return to the "park" position. It just stops where it feels like it. I`m wondering if a setup from a different/newer GM vehicle could be made to work in these cars.

My washer doesnt work but the delay does so I am hoping its the pump. Unfortunately I think GM adaptation of the switch is gonna be tough as most wiper switches are on the directional stalk off the steering column. Never in my life have I seen the wiper switch on the door.

my '84 delay works but the washer doesn't.

pulled right fender and ran batt/grd directly to the pump and paid the price for not checking where the hose was pointing-wet face! looks like I'll check the board next as 92ragtop suggests!
