About the same as a not so rare 88. Manuals tend to bring a few hundred more than auto's thats about it.

ok I will over the weekend.. I am just curious.
there is a small group of guys that love the Z51 cars. there are quite different than the Z52 or base cars. its a little different animal. - they are really hard to find too. I dont know if i want to sell but I know some c4 are very reasonable right now. it wil take a special person to pay the right price. i was just looking for some input.....$9500 seems like the right number to me if I ever sell it....i kno i know-- there are 20 other 88's for $6500-8500.... none are fully loaded Z51 cars. -- that has to account for something i hope....Ill try to do some pics.....Thanks..

Good luck in this economy youll be sitting on it for awhile as you can pick up a decent LT4 car for that. People always seem to gravitate last minute towards something newer when they are out looking....couldnt tell you how many people were looking at my ZR1 but last sec picked up a C5...not what they reeeealy wanted but heck it was newer.

Maybe somewhere out there your buyer is but youll be waiting a long time just being honest.

Try the trader pubs or ebay youll have the best luck there.

Gotta agree with everything above. Besides this, the CF is NOT the place to try to sell the car, generally. Too many lowballers here.

Good luck with the sale. I'm sure it's a nice car.

There are low ballers everywhere, not just here. If a person is looking for a certain car, they are just as likely to pay a decent price here as they are anywhere else if they see the car they want.....WW

Well I half agree with this WW. Your right but the Forum is more on the "pulse" of the market if you will and there are a lot of cars out there at better prices. It really depends on who the buyer is. The more uninformed the better. I am a prime example as I bought my 85 for around $7k face but in actuality I had about $3.8k in it which was more around what it would market for. The PO had done tons of resto and sunk a lot of money in it but ended up no where recovering what he invested (Lucky me) As for the OP here the comments made are on the money but you may find that certain someone who wants your "rare" car but be prepared to sit on it if you are firm in your pricing.

Good Luck!!

To put it simply, there are a few and I mean a very few rare C4s. Unfortunately this is not one of them, at least to an educated C4 aficionado . Still sounds like a very nice Vette though.

Sounds like a nice car and there may be a buyer out there, but I think you're shooting for the moon. Yes, you can find an LT4 car for that kind of money, but you should be able to buy a pristine, low mileage late LT1 for that kind of money as well. At $9,500 your getting close to C5 money as well, pretty tough for an 88 to compete with an early C5 in decent shape.

Good luck, like I said sounds like a nice car.

fyi, I just paid less than that for a very nice CE LT4 coupe. It wasn't the only one for sale in that price range either.

So that's the problem? I guess you would go out and buy the 88 for $9,500 over a nice CE LT4 car for less? If that's your preference go for it. I don't think many would agree, but what do we know, we're the problem.

Also, the OP's not "new", been here since Feb 2009.

Yep to a point. THink with the OP he wants to get top buck nothing wrong with that. Poring over production #s/options to hope you stumble across something to declare "Rare=$$$ only goes so far.
Its still a C4, not a chrome bumper C3, C2, etc
Z51 is certainly a good selling point and the car does sound clean but by no means is going to draw someone out of the woodwork to pay a bunch for it.
Rare optioned GS Callaway ZR1 different story, those are collectible cars that someone may pay attention to the whole 1 of XXX thing.

All he can do is fish and try to find someone to pay the $.
Nice color combo and low miles for its yr he has that going for him anyway.
Sure he will get above avg selling price as many of these C4s out there are hammered and patched up pretty badly these days.

Default Current Market Value

$7,500

I have a 1988 with the 4+3, duel power seats, shiney Dark Red Metallic paint, 84,000 miles and 2 owners garage kept, tons of new parts including clutch, minus the Z51. I have the Z52 set up. The Vette would sit forever if I asked for $9,500.

There are a million C4's out there and the current market value is the lowest they've ever been. If you put it up for sale at $7,500 or maybe $8,000 it would move. $9,500 it will sit-a long time...

Good luck!

Just put it on ebay with no reserve and see what it is worth and add the words rare. I'm sure you will find it isn't worth nothing maybe get 5K out of it and that is it.

in the tax season you might get more.

guy down the street had an 86 coupe, AC didnt work, sun-faded dash display, filthy inside (smelled bad too), paint about a 7 out of 10. He did have chrome wheels.

sold it on craigslist in 5 days for $6000, and a bunch of people came to look at it.

I wouldnt have paid more than $3000 for it, had to be a tax refund....

Mine is kinda rare also, but I probably could replace it for what I paid for it. Less than 15k 5 years ago.
