The number one item on my to do list is replacing the weather stripping. Today was perfect, sunny with temperatures in the 70's, so I decided to do the front and rear pillars.
I started with the front which was relatively easy. There was a little bit of adhesive that had to be removed. There were spring wires inbedded in the molding which are not in the replacement set. Thinking it was the original molding.
The rear pillar molding was a real pain. It had enough adhesive to have been able to seal the Titanic. It was about a 1/8 of an inch thick, black and extremely sticky. Once it was removed the rest of the job was easy.
I looked at the door moldings and it appears that they have pop rivets holding them on. I can not find any pushin fasteners.
Have a question before I start on them. Do the moldings just slip onto the pop rivets or do they need adhesive? I did not use adhesive on the pillars and they are fine.
