Default galvanic corrosion

anyone use copper exhaust manifold gaskets on aluminum head engines ? any problem with with steel/ copper / alum. corrosion issues ? having problem trying to seal pacesetter shorty headers to my lt4 . what have you found to be the best gasket material ? thanks , johno

If you look up galvanic corrosion, you'll see that our C4's do not suffer from it....unless, of course, you drive under water a great deal.

water is not a requirement for galvanic corrosion . dissimilar metals and electric current is , hence the question.

thanks joe just the info i was seeking in chart form. , will go ahead and use the copper gaskets now.

Percy's Seal-4-Good Header Gaskets are the best sealing header gaskets I have found. They are soft aluminum.

You don't understand galvanic corrosion (GC). Look it up.

An electrolyte IS required for GC. Ninety-nine per cent of the time, that electrolyte is water.
Electrical current is NOT a requirement for producing GC.

purchased percys alum. from summit @ $42.00 delivered. fyi oem exhaust manifold gaskets are NLA from chevy , and the 2 1/5 inch donut gaskets are $ 60.00 FRICKING dollars each !
