Default C4 Head unit/stereo options

So, since my 85 is missing the head unit, what have some of you installed in your c4's. I would like to have a double din touch screen but doesn't look possible. Just thinking ahead, it is part of the interior that needs replaced.

The Bose radios from the early 4th gen Camaro look pretty good. You can buy an adapter that makes it plug and play.

Default Double Din

You have the room. You just need the bezel. I forgot where I purchased mine from. It came ready to go.

I purchased a Soundstream unit from fleabay with a flip up screen. Not a high end unit but so far I am pleased with the performance. I believe I paid around $190 for it. I just needed something with a screen for the backup cam and did not want to do all of the modifying to fit a double din unit.

Did you have to do anything to the security system what you replaced the stock unit? I recall reading about issues with swapping out a '93, but not where I saw it.

I've got a couple of RPi units around the house already with one functioning as a front-door for the network, and another controlling my 3d printer. They are really easy to work with.

Edit: Looks like a bit more than $300 for the parts. But.... There are several things that I already have covered using my phone (ALDL, GPSf) and that knocks off at least $60 right there. Hmmm. Still need am amp of some sort, and some way to attenuate the output so that I can use the existing speakers.

Or maybe not. It looks like he is using the audio output from the HDMI on the RPi to drive the OEM speakers.
