Default Steering wheel - wrap or replace?

I'm getting to the detail-fixing stage for my 1990 project car. The steering wheel leather is in bad shape. I have been searching for a good discussion on this situation in the forums and haven't found one yet. I could just replace the wheel with a good used one off of Ebay (~$150) or attempt to buy a cover and wrap it. I don't need perfection, just looking for "decently nice". Has anyone had success buying a quality cover and re-wrapping it yourself? If so which cover do you recommend? I don't want to bother if it ends up looking cheap. Here's the current situation:

I just rewrapped the wheel on my 84. I spent approximately 15 hours on the stitching. When you figure in the cost of the cover and your time I would of been better off going with a pre done wheel than dumping 20 hours of my free time into it.

That said I get to wear the t shirt that I did it myself whenever anyone asks. If they like the way it looks yay, I'll feel a tinge more pride. If they hate it I'll have a hard time not taking it personally

Wife did mine on a different car, took her a little over an hour. Used a MEWANT cover and she followed this video:

Had a couple of others done by Cardreams.com in Poland, they have a site on Facebook if you want to search. Someone on another forum organized a group buy so the prices were not too terrible, wasn't cheap though.

There aren’t too many options for the C4 (90-93 specifically). I notice there is one that Corvette America makes, around $60 - has anyone tried this one?

Did mine with the Wheel Skins stitch-on cover years ago, still looks great.

A couple of things to keep in mind.

90 airbag has to be used with a 90 wheel in a 90 Corvette
91-93 wheel can be used in a 90
90 wheel can not be used in a 91-93

The video got me interested but I don't see the C4s on their site. C6,7 and 8 but no C4.

Just a minor correction, because there are contradictory statements here (tell me if my interpretation is wrong):

90 airbag has to be used with a 90 Corvette, but can be mounted to 91-93 wheels - I believe this is because of the connector style on the back of the airbag module, right?
All 90-93 wheels can be used in a 90
90 wheel can not be used in a 91-93 (why this is the case?)

Thanks for raising this! The 90 is truly an odd beast.

Same - it looked nice but no C4 options.

I found this alternative with Redline Goods - but it's pretty expensive:

I decided against the Wheelskins one because it doesn't cover the spokes. I ended up finding a pretty cheap replacement wheel, or else I would have gone with the Redline option above. If anyone tries it please share results!

I bought a Wheel Skin to put over mine, haven't put it on, but the videos and photo's I've seen look great and it is real leather you stitch around your wheel.
