Does anyone know how much lighter these replacements actually are?

Also, will they hold up in a daily driver?

I've been wanting to do this for some time now but never knew the cost. Thanks for the link! Now I know I need over 11K for the CF body and paint.

Must work harder! :smash:

The hood is about the only one worth while for saving weight. It will save you roughly 50 lbs. THe only other piece on the car that would be good for weight savings would be the rear quarters. The front bumper and rear bumper are already so light.

50 lbs is nice, but for $1800 (not including the cost to paint) some nice mods will give more horsepower to overcome 50lbs.

The Exotic Muscle carbon fiber road version weighs in at 28.5#, the race version (without bracing underneath) is just a shade over 19#.

My OEM hood was 135#...so you drop over 100# with one.

I think he is updating the thread for knowledge base when people search and find this information. I does make sense to me, if that was his intent. After all this is a rare topic on a very popular cheap car.

But the original link to the parts no longer works.

Which parts are you talking about?

Looks like the forum is kinda messed up. When you add an image to your psoting it eliminates the text. Here was the text I had before I added the image: Here is my Exotic Muscle Carbon Fiber Hood with the bracing. I had the fenders extended out 1 1/2" on both sides with Carbon Fiber.

Also, I have the Exotic Muscle Carbon Fiber Rear Bumper. I had the Spoiler custom made out of Carbon Fiber to my spec. The image will follow in a separate posting.
