I'm about to put a carpet set in. How do I remove the **** on the shifter (6 speed)? Anything else I need to know about removing the console?
Thanks.

Lots of answers to the gear shift question in history. Unscrew ****, pry out the "nail" (wedge). People remove roof and pull with vice grips or pry with appropriate tool. (I used brake adjuster tool).
Remove seats, A/C bezel, Console bezel (screws in bottom of glovebox), seat belts, trim....to r/r carpet.
