L98 to LT1 intake conversion: PCV Question
A while back i bought a converted LT1 intake to use on my 85 L98 off the forum. After I got it I was looking it over and thought the PCV connection looked funny but didn't think anything of it at the time.
Well now I am prepping to do the install this spring and realized that he hogged out the area where the pcv grommet goes. I dont think the part will fit correctly.
What am i going to have issues with if this is not sealed up? Oil everywhere?
I assume I will have to figure out how to fill the area to fit the oem grommet.
Photo is attached.
Thanks for any help you guys can give.

..... That looks "as cast" ... not "hogged out" ... no grinder marks ... make sure that you have the correct grommet as in perhaps it should be that shape and fit that hole .....

Thanks for the replies, i was doing some google searching for photos, and its not 100% clear because its hard to see when installed but it seems the only PCV grommet i can find fits a circular hole.
I agree though it looks symmetrical, thats why i didn't question it initially.
Also was wondering if the area was cut away maybe it's due to the bolt hole having to be directly under it. IDK.

I really can't find a photo of a stock one for some reason. But at hotrod.com i found a swap story and one of the photos shows the PCV installed. It's hard to see but i definately think mine is messed with. I guess ill order a grommet and do what i have to for it to fit.

Found the photo I needed on ebay, wonder why he messed with mine.

I would contact the seller first if possible. You need to verify that port will still function for PCV use. But for manifold vacuum any location behind the throttle body that connects to the plenum area will work. You want to avoid a single runner as that will pulsate at low RPM.
