In 1976 when I graduated from high school I bought a 1967 Convertible 427/435hp Rally Red with White Top and Stinger and Black interior for $3,700. I was 18 years old. Since then I have had 17 other Corvettes.

Hey MTVette, glad to see I'm not the only that had to wait so long. Got my first one when I was 43, on number five now, and number six is coming soon. Save the wave.

I was 23 when I bought a 59 327, 375 horse four speed. It was silver with a black rag-top, red leather interior. It would get up to 100 in a heart beat but real squirelly and scary after that. If i remember right I think it only weighed about 2800 pounds. I had it from 1976 till 1981. I still think it was the best looking year for vettes. I got an 89 last March The C4 is a much better car but that 59 will always be like my first love.

43 & 9 months
Or about 35 years after I fell in love with them. The car is in the signature. Thought I could never afford one, then we set a budget and did an Internet search. FOund out we could afford one so we bought one.
My wife thinks I'll never get rid of the boyish grin I've had ever since. I hope it gets bigger! Its fun to take 1 - 2 hours to get to the Walmart that is only 6 miles away by an ordinary car!

Age: 15
63 327/300 Convertible White
So what does a 15 year old do with a Vette when he has to wait another 2 years to get his learners permit?
Scrap the 327 in favor of a parts built L-88.
At age 8 I noticed my first Vette, a 63, fell in love, and wanted one.
By age 15, I had cut enough lawns, washed and waxed enough cars, and did enough odd jobs after school and weekends to buy one myself.
Paid $1500. for it.
Those were the days......

16. The black one in my sig. I love it, even when it acts up. (Ever since I got it a week ago). Actually I kinda enjoy fixing things on it, getting to know my car better, what I can and can't do, etc. Don't like paying for it though.
I've got about 1500 dollars in repairs before I will be happy with it. I just hope I don't act stupid and lose it.
