Default Looking at a 95 ZR-1 in Tex

Looking at a 95 Black/Black ZR-1 in Lubbock, Texas.
Vin# 1G1YZ22J5S5800401

Trying to upgrade from a LT4 (or just add to the stable)....
Any information about this car would be appreciated. Its a long ways away from me but how many ZR-1 are ever available in Hawaii?
A link to any site with info deciphering a Z's VIN would be appreciated also.

Thanks,
Gregg

I envy you and congratulate you at the same time. Wish I could be eyeballing a ZR-1 period let alone a 95 model.

GM service history looks good on the car. No warranty work ever done except for crank positioning sensor and a battery. It was sold new at Landmark Chevrolet in Houston. Warranty started on 8-31-95. Built on April the 10th of 1995. Order # 2677JA. I was in the plant that week. I probably saw it on the line !!

Greg,

I think that car has been bought and sold MANY times.... Purchased back by the same dealer @ least 3 times.

His bottom line was $28k.

Sounds like a bargain, but I would have it checked over well! (by a reputable dealer with an LT5 tech)

check www.zr1netregistry.com for more info on ZR-1's!

Cheers!

Hey Gregg, I just PM'ed you about my 19k mile '93 ZR-1... Polo Green II with beige interior. Contrary to the black one, mine is a 2 owner car and has been under my care for the last 10 years. No stories and no issues whatsoever. Thanks! -Jay

So would that make this an early or late 95 build?

I think David is right about this ZR-1, I remember it bouncing around on ebay back when I bought my 91. I did some checking to see if my memory was right and yes it just came off auction again failing to reach reserve, go to ebay and pull up this closed auction number: 260484124288 David's also gives good advice to have the car checked out if you can, it will be money well spent!

Well, The last 95 ZR1, VIN # 448 rolled of the line in April of 95, so this car with an April build and VIN # 401 would make it one of the last ZR1's ever built in the C4 run.
