If it was a 1986 prototype in original condition, it might be priceless.

I am absolutely positive that it's not a prototype ZR1.
There are only a handful of ZR1 prototypes that survived.
This ain't one of them.
More than likely it's a standard C4 with ZR1 emblems added on.
Hope you got it *REAL* cheap, otherwise you got screwed.
I could be wrong and I will apologize if I am.

Based on the pictures you have, it is just a run of the mill 1986 L98.
The rear is a 91-96 rear cap, but it is not a ZR-1 rear either since it is not wide enough.
The badge on the rear has no bearing on what the car is.

The cars used by Lotus for LT-5 engine fitment were normal 86 vin cars shipped over to England. The stock engine was pulled and various iterations of the Phase I LT-5 were installed for testing. All were crushed and one was recreated from the remains of 2 cars and a donar car.
The first cars assembled that can be labled as true ZR-1 prototype were the 25 built as 88 year models in the May June 1987 time frame, two are known to exist. One EX5014 will be on display at Carslile this week.
These first 25 were not idenfified as ZR-1s on the build sheet rather they are labled 'King of the Hill', aparently the ZR-1 designation was not applied until after the build of these cars. In fact the green ligtht for these cars was not actually given until Dec 1988 months after the first cars were on the street.
You do not have a ZR-1.
