When BlownBlueZ06 gets bored......nitrous

Many of you know what happens when I get bored......I find something to do. I always wanted to know what a little shot of nitrous would do for me. I've thought about it for a long time and finally decided to jump. I contacted Nitrous Outlet and picked out all of the parts to make my system look good and be reasonably reliable. I also wanted it to be serviceable, so I bought weatherpack plugs and pins to allow me to remove or isolate sections of the system. I didn't want a permanently mounted switch plate, so I made one that allows me to plug it in when I want to go out and play.
Having the nitrous allows me a few things. In roll racing, I no longer need the high RPM in the gear to prevent from entering a gear with lower torque. Entering a gear at 4500RPM provides the power, but forces an almost immediate shift allowing my opponent to gain momentum. I bought an FJO window switch that will allow me to set it where I get the hit and have a reverse progressive curve as I gain RPM and boost comes in.

falling TPS and coil connections for the FJO controller. Dark blue is the falling TPS voltage and green with a white stripe is the coil connection I chose. When programming the FJO, you must use signal X2 since the spark only fires every other revolution. If then PCM had a "wasted spark" function, firing every revolution, then no math function would be needed for setting up the coil parameters.

cut and welded the power steering bracket to accommodate the space that the plate takes up.

Here are some pics of the brackets I made to mount the bottle to the bowl shaped area in the back well. I welded 1/2" studs to the brackets and use a large plate, washer and nut on the bottom side to hold the brackets in.

With the carpet in.
I'm still waiting on the straps from Nitrous Outlet. They've been out of them for some time now.

Here's the bottle mounted with the cover on. It was a tight fit to get it under the cover.

I would figure you would spin in any gear when shifting before, how are you not spinning when this kicks in after a shift? Don't forget the big NOS stickers!

I haven't figured out what to do with my purge line yet. Soon as I do, I'll bend one out of stainless.

That is crazy. Hmmmm I have an old kit sitting in the basement....Has anyone ever drilled out a nitrous plate and put Meth nozzles in it? Was wondering if that could be set up in place of where the MAF is on most cars that go SD.
