I park as far over on my side of the garage as I can and still be able to get the car out without a major hassle. My wife does the same with her car. That leaves a good bit of room between the cars for opening doors.

yep; I did the tennis-ball thing for years... cheap and very effective.

After I added my automatic car cover - the tennis ball aid had to be removed.

So now I use one of those laser parking devices - as someone earlier had mentioned.

Hide the remote...de-program the homelink just tell her you love her and you will investigate at the first opportunity.

You guys are amazing, sheesh, lasers, tennis ***** & some guy playing with his wet noodle. I just put a concrete curb stone (borrowed from a local parking lot) behind her Yukon. She backs in till she touches the curb. Leaves me maximum work room behind it, and always in far enough to close the door. Safe enough to leave a Harley behind it, I don't think a tennis ball would stop the Yukon. Of course she pays attention enough to be well over so she has room to get out too. She is as fussy over her black Yukon as I am about my Corvette, so no worries. Neighbors think it's cruel I make her back in and I pull in. Guess she's more talented than their wives.

I took the easy way! I just built a 4 car garage in my basement that is oversized in all dimensions. One day I had a utility trailer hooked to the back of my Ford Ranger pickup and had it loaded with some building materials. It started raining and so I backed the trailer (bed is 3.5'x7') into my center garage stall far enough to keep the stuff in the trailer and the bed of the truck from getting wet. When I got out of the truck there was still considerable space behind the trailer so I wondered if I could back in far enough to close the garage door. Sure enough, I eased back a little at a time and I was able to shut the door and still had inches to spare with the whole truck and trailer backed in the garage.

I was inspired to oversize the garages when building the house because I had previously been over at a friends new house and he wanted to show me something in his garage. We walked from the house into the garage. He had his wife's Towncar parked it there and he had to open the garage door so we could walk around the back bumper to get to the other side of the garage. At that moment I thought, never would I spend two hundred thousand dollars building a new house with an undersized garage.
