Nice Vette by the way, you must excuse me it's late evening in the UK and I have been opening a few tins of beer

Don't worry I don't think they look like wagon wheels either!

I would say this is the narrow minded opinion of someone with extremely poor taste in Corvette wheels.
The '97-'99 factory wheels are a strong (no hairline crack issues like the later factory thinspokes), lightweight (less unsprung weight is better; compare it to some of the repro/fancy wheels you see people replacing them with), stylish wheel with a masculine look, IMO. Perfect for those who don't want jewelry on their Vette. When I hear the term 'wagon wheel' I think of wheels that came on the old covered wagons during the Old West exploration. Typical wagon wheel of the 'Old West'. Looks like they had very 'thin' spokes to me. The factory C5 wheels from 2000 on would be more appropriately named 'wagon wheels' IMO.

The wagon wheels are UGLY. The 2001+ CHROME wheels are the best (which of course, I have).
Don't mean to toot my own horn.
BTW, sometimes body shops get the 2000 and 2001 wheels confused and put them on at the same time after a repair, which looks wierd.

Stock wheels on the 97-99 C5. In chrome, they are not all that bad.

stock wagon wheel must go down in automotive history as one of
just the worst looking wheels.
That they wound up on the totally redesigned C5..????..no
explanation other than that's GM for you...they give you some
good...then they give you some...really...bad.
If someone can find a worse looking wheel that came standard with
a car please do post it.
