Burning Brakes
Yes, some folks on this forum have done the hi-temp clear to their Rotor slots and cross drilled holes. I think Zilla or one of the other forum members had performed this work. I know one guy even took time to take his cross drilled and slotted rotors off every year or so and clean the holes with a dremel tool. Rotors looked beautiful but I can't imagine the amount of work that would be involved.
I have the Sport Brake cross drilled and slotted rotors. Before I installed them, I bought some high temp clear from the auto parts store and painted the rotor hats and cooling fins after masking off the area of the rotor swept by the pads. The zinc wash takes care of the holes and slots. Two years so far and not a sign of rust. Good luck with it.

Use brake cleaner to clean new rotors and paint with rusteoum high temp (1200 F) paint. Mine still look good after over 2 years. Don't forget to paint the edge vents and even the rear holes and slots (to prevent rust from getting on your wheels).
Don't worry about masking brake surfaces, the paint will wear off fast.

I have had the Baer slotted/drilled rotors for about 8 years, and after a couple of seasons the holes get rusty looking with brake residue around them. Each spring I pull the wheels and clean them. A .30 calibre wire gun cleaning brush works perfectly. They look like new when I'm done, and it only takes a couple of minutes per wheel (after the wheel is off, of course).

Have you thought about having them powdercoated. I think the powdercoater guy (Corvette Pilot) on the forum has done drilled and slotted rotors before. His website is http://www.thepowdercoater.com

I think you will be happy with yours when you're done. I bought my calipers already painted red and the rotors I did with the duplicolor. I've attached a picture of the front and the rear for you.

I really don't know how the red would look in the slots/holes. That area does collect a lot of brake dust, but usually washing wheel area gets most of that off.

What a strange first post to a nearly 14 year old thread.
