i did a search but couldnt come up with a straight answer. my battery is dead and im looking to put a new one in. from what i have read the optima red post is good. i called autozone they said they had a optima 75 but it might not work because my 03 has side posts. so what model works on the 03? or should i just put in a a/c delco?

I have an Optima Red Top 75/35 - 925.. It has Top posts and Side posts.. I just left the Top Post Covers on and used the side ones to connect power. I always see about 14.3 Volts for Battery Power with it. I never saw over 13.5 V with my Stock AC Delco.. Very Good Battery!

I went with the exide orbital, after factory delco failed after 2.5 yrs (car just turned 4 this past Feb) started getting chrge faults. Have not regretted decision.

It really doesn't matter with this car unless you are running a huge stereo. My OEM lasted 5 years and I recently replaced it with an AC Delco. Just keep it on a Battery Tender if you are not using the car for a while.

I replaced my good AC delco battery with the optima red top, since i've heard the acid type batterys may leak and make a mess of your wiring underneath it... I wasnt taking any chances...

Same Optima red top now in its second Vette of mine. Originally purchased in 1999 and it is still working perfectly. I heard too many stories of acid batteries leaking down on C5 computers in the early years. As a matter of fact, I took the battery that came in my '03 Z and put it in my S-10 pickup, because my truck needed a battery. About a year later it failed, stranding me on a Sunday. So much for ever buying an AC Delco battery.

I would never pay the prices that they are asking for a battery.the best battery I ever had was a Interstate battery.I had 2 Pioneer Amps on the thing and it still lasted 7 years. The amps were a GM 4000 and a GMH 200.This is back in the mid 90's! At night I couldn't turn the system up but so far,The headlights would go very dim when the bass hit.
Interstate for the win!!!

I heard too many bad stories about the red tops, I replaced my battery with a gm unit, the orginal lasted six years with no problems and no tender on it.

Odyssey PC925MJT. Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) so no worries of acid spilling out, can be mounted in any position, lightweight 25 lbs, up to ten year service life (we'll see...), superior cranking power and longer deep cycle. Made in USA.
$172.95 for the battery, $43.95 for the aluminum side mount hold down. Bought it from West Coast Batteries, Corona, CA or you can look up www.odysseybatteries.com for your nearest distributor.

I've never heard a bad word about Optima and it seems the majority of the posts haven't either, so just curious about your sources. I've owned several of them all on an 85 C4 that had a "draw" I could never track down. Over a period of three years the car "ate" one Duralast and two of the red tops which were both replaced under warranty before I found the problem and bought my "tender". The third one lasted for over three years and was holding strong when I sold the car.
