Default How do I keep the "Auto" headlights from popping up?

I have a darker corner of the garage that the nose of my car sits in so everytime I start the car (day or night) the headlights pop up until I back outside.
My concern is that I am going to wear out the headlight motors before long. I have done everything I an think of to stop this from happening.
Also during an evening as soon as the sun is remotely going down, up come the lights. Sometimes a guy just want's to cruise with the park lights no because of the coolness of it all!
I am in Canada and this is a Canadian car so I don't know if this has to do with our "Daytime" running lights law or not.
HELP!!!

Go to your options menu, and under the Twilight mode thing press reset to where it displays twilight off.. Then exit out of it, and you will have controll of when you want your lights to pop up.

To defeat the Auto Headlight pop up feature, remove Micro Relay #44 under the toe board.

It might be snug but it will come out and it will solve your problem, guaranteed.

Only drawback is, you have to remember to turn your headlights on and off.

Theres a guy called the "corvette Gadget man" who sells a small resistor you install on the daylight sensor... around $20...
cheap & easy mod..
Installed it on my 00 a couple of years back with no problems...

Canadian cars twilight can't be turned off in the options of the DIC. Try what the Canadian guys told you, it'll work.

Try pulling the parking brake up one click and see if that will keep them from coming on. I don't know if this works on Corvettes so it may be totally useless info, but it did work on the 4th Generation Camaro with automatic lights.

Exactly. If the DIC says twilight off, then your lights should not come up unless you turn them on manually.

Sorry but this does not work on cars made for export to Canada, you can set it up that way on the DIC but it still doesn't work. Later model C5's you can pull the fuse but earlier ones like my 98 I had to buy the bypass device which works great.

I'm reading the book "Corvette C5" and they mention the absence of Twilight Sentinel in the first 99' FRC's.

Fast forward to 2004... Do you guys know if the Z06's have the Twilight Sentinel option?

I admit I have not gone out to check the DIC. Too lazy. :p

... didn't know auto headlights existed on any C5!

I'd never actually want to use it, but always good to learn something new.

Neither did I. I couldn't imagine the head lights popping up automatically.

Me either. I was thinking something on mine must be broken, since mine don't automatically pop up.
