I use Mother's all metal polish, in & out, on my stainless Magnaflows.

To get the bad carbon off I used 00 steel wool and some windex. They once cleaned up I used some SemiChrome(this stuff is the best) and then wiped it off, they look like new and the semi puts a nice coat on it so you can just wipe the tips off after they are good and clean.

If you can find this stuff and you will never buy anything else, mine were solid black i sprayed a few sprays on it and the black started just running off.
a few sprays and high pressure hose and they look almost new.
I just took the pictures and I have not cleaned them in a while so they are not perfect but you can get the idea how good it works.
