Here is the start of my C5 Jake edition. Having some 1" and 2" emblems made to apply to wheel center caps and under hood fluid caps. Also getting some C5R fender and rear spoiler emblems made that have the Jake skull made together

widewheel Click the image to open in full size.
The illegal, albeit copyrighted by Government Motors, C5 Jake.
That Jake looks familiar. While back I made about 30 of similar plastic plates and send them out for free to any CF member that wanted them. Then I got all kinds of mail from others, none affiliated with GM schooling me on copy wright laws, destroying original look of the C5 and how inappropriate it is to display a C6 Jake on a C5. I mean seriously, WTF, got tired of the haters and quit making/sending them out.
BTW "Widewheel" that Jake plate looks great

I guess that displaying Jake on your ride is personal preference. As is with any extra you choose to add or install say like different wheels, wide rear fenders, spoilers, side skirts, extractor hoods, exhaust, double din navigation head units, interior upgrades. The list is endless. I think that you would be hard pressed to find a C5 out there that has not had some form of extra something added or installed to make their ride more personal and enjoyable to them. This forum is dedicated to this fact. If not the vendors who supply all the extras we so long to aquire would not support it. This forum is a sea of knowledge, advice, ideas and people who share a common fondness for these cars. So to each his own. I like the racing Jake and a whole lot of other extras that little by little work their way onto my ride. I'm just curious besides being in the Corvette museum, is there a bone stock C5 out there the way it rolled of the assembly line?

Bought mine with the Corsa, added Jake. In my math that's two mods. Jake can be removed and the original exhaust is in the attic.

I guess I'm close!

I'm sure there is........when I bought mine 2 years ago it was just as it came off the assembly line, right down to the original tires.

It's still close today, has new Michelins, a C6 shifter, an LMC5 column lock by-pass and an exhaust plate.

This revived thread inspired me. I had some extra vinyl from when I put the stripes on.

They swept the entire series last year with a driver, manufacturer and team championship. They just won 1st and 2nd last race in Baltimore. They are tired for the championship and just qualified 2nd and 3rd at COTA for the race tomorrow.... Corvette Racing is the most successful team in the history of ALMS....

not lately?

Hood liner looks great. Wish I could do this but the heat extraction hood I have won't let me use one.

And...Corvette won again! Held off a strong field of vipers, bmw's and porsches....

Mags and garcia won again! They now lead the championship points with two races left, VIR (gm's frequent test track), being one of them. Final yr of ALMS and we are in position to win back to back yr championships...

Not lately?
