Default Tail Light Grilles or Louvers

I am looking for something unique for my tail lights. I removed my dark tinted tail lights a couple of months ago. I would like to find something different than the usual covers. I saw a set of slotted covers that were painted the same color as the car at the EVS car show last month. Any ideas out there?

Louvers on your tail lights are neither new or unique. It's actually a fad that has passed.

I'm not a fan of either grilles or louvers. IMO, I like the smoked look that you prolly just de-modded. But depending on where you live, this can also earn you a ticket from big brother.

It's a matter of taste and style. So far I've had (1) stock, (2) Flush Mounted, (3) Euros and now (4) LED Halos.

I really like the LED Halos because the really light up when applied and they look OEM. I've received many compliments from fellow Corvette owners and the C6 guys are jealous because they don't offer them for the C6 (or we can't find them).

imo the Tail Light Grilles or Louvers..are the worst thing to ever be created for the corvette...they look like ***..and ruin the back end of the car..just my 2 cents...the black out look is cool..but the halo mod is by the best looking one to date for the vettes

just my 2 cents of course, but i think a black car is the only one to wear louvers well. body color louvers that is. they dont stand out, and they give a little shading effect. chrome is out all together. but a lot of cars are wearing chrome, and a lot of other color cars are wearing body color louvers. why? because their owners like them. figure out what you like.
everybody's garage has parts laying around that seemed like a good idea at one time or another.

I put louvers on for about 2 weeks, they're gone now. I have a backup light louver/license plate frame that's still on it, with black letter fillers it looks good now (to me). Going for flush mount tail lights next. I think the louvers were too much on a torch red coupe, they might have looked better on a black or spiral gray.

I've got a set of Pewter louvers, taillights/back-up lights, for sale, they are in great shape.

I have the Altec Phantom louver license plate frame in Spiral Gray and it does look great! I like how it fills in some of the open space over the back up LED lights.

Mine are custom made.
It's up to the individual. Some like them, some don’t. It's your car. Make it your own.

If you really want a good look for your taillights, go with the LED Halos. They really do set the car off.

Louvers and grills on the tail lights only look good with a dash mat, curb feelers, mud flaps, and fuzzy dice on the mirror!

Default Here is my take on questions like this

Get what you like... not what some yahoo likes here... when someone here is willing to buy you something "They Like" then you can accept their gift and opinion.. for you to buy something that someone other than you likes seems foolish to me. The way to do it is buy something " You Like " then ask here what people think... the ones that don't like what you like can offer you their opinion, the ones that like what you like only proves that they have the same taste that you do.. and in the grand scheme of things do you, or should you really care what anyone thinks.
Just my opinion, which really isn't worth much anyway...
Good luck with whatever ridiculous things you want to put on your car See how important my opinion is???

OK, Bill you made me laugh! I agree with ET :

It's your car and your decision on what looks good to you. Without a doubt what you thought looked good at one time may change later on.

At one time, I thought chrome louvers looked great, so I bought a set.
Had them on for a day and changed my mind and sold them. I have seen a few cars out there with them and they look pretty good, but not for me. Then, later the painted ones came out and I thought about that for awhile. They looked good on some cars, like Tom's white vette, but wasn't for me. I tried the flush mount tail lights for a week or so. Then back to the way they where.

I finally found the look that I liked, but even with that I had to make a little adjustment. I bought the Halo LED's and put them on. They looked good, but where a little too orange looking for my taste. So after a few weeks of trying to make up my mind about them . . . I found the answer. I talked to Richard at Corvette Enhancements and he had the answer to my dilemma. So I boxed them up and sent them to him for a little adjustment. He changed the color to a deeper darker red, just to get rid of the orange tint. They look just a bit darker red than the stock lights. They where perfect when he finished with them. Years later they still look like new and I have never thought of changing the look again.

So, the final decision is yours to make and you may make a few changes along the way, But, that half the fun of Corvette ownership. "Doing it your way"

One of the worst appearance mods you can do to a corvette.
