www.cruzinperformance.com is the best if you can have the car down for a few days to send the injectors in.

I guess the question is whether you are talking optimizing preventative maintenance or resolving a more significant problem.

If you just want to bring the injectors up to optimum and keep them pristine, I strongly believe in the wisdom of regularly using Chevron Techron Plus cleaner.

If the injectors haven't been kept clean, it might take two or three tanks to get them up to par. This also helps to keep the fuel qty system up to par.

If that doesn't resolve the problem then there are more powerful cleaners out there but others will have to recommend the good ones. I had the injectors on my '89 Z51 cleaned by a professional shop and that worked out real well but two injectors had to be replaced. Bad gas.

I second the use of Chevron Techron Plus cleaner, I use it every oil change, even though I use a Top Tier gas.

I've used these guys with good results:
http://www.witchhunter.com/injectorserv1.php4

But agree, the only real way to know they are clean is to remove them from the car and have them flow tested.

The guy I recommended, flow tests them when he gets them, removes the little screen filters on the inlet, hydosonically cleans them, replace the screen(s) and flow tests them after. They look brand new when he returns them and posts the before and after flow tests on his website for you to see.

Default cleaning injectors & Valves ?

I have and use the Chevron/Techron with every tank fillup. But I also always fill-up when I get down to a 1/4 tank. But I recently saw a prmo from the maker of 'Sta-bil' and it's for the effects of ethanol on your car. I'm not sure if any of you folks know that the EPA is "studying" the introduction of 15% ethanol in pump gasoline, regular and premium. I think the 15% very soon. Have any of you folks ever tried this "Ethanol Treatment" from the makes of 'Sta-bil'?

http://www.goldeagle.com/brands/stabil/default.aspx

In New Jersey last month, the state department of weights and measures stopped at 15 independent owned gas stations, 12 out of the 15 were selling regular gas as premium 93 octane and the crap that was sold as regular wasn't even 87 octane. And now the EPA is going to raise the percentage of ethanol in pump gas. Since they, (EPA) just came to an agreement with auto maker that by 2015 all cars would get an average of 54 MPG. It strikes me as odd that they would do that without the increase of the percentile of ethanol in gasoline ?

What quality of gasoline do you have where you live?

I also should have clarified that nothing goes in my tank except Chevron Premium. In an emergency, maybe Shell or Mobil.

I use the Techron Plus additive maybe every third or fourth tankful and only add it to a near empty tank (just because that is what the instructions say) before filling the tank.

The best I have ever used hands down is BG44K. It can be hard to find but it can be tracked down on Ebay or Nissan dealers.

Second is Chevron Techron.

Techron is pretty good stuff. I use it a lot (don't own a vette yet). I also use a product call Star tron to battle ethanol in my gas. Pick it up at Wal Mart of all places. But, I have also seen the new ethanol treatment Stabil has started to advertise and plan to check that out as soon as I start seeing it in stores.

I use Lucas products, use the Upper Cylinder Lubrcant every 5000 miles in my daily driver, and they also have an ethanol conditioner that uses only 1 ounce per 5 gallons, have been using for a few years now.

The one year I was at Carlisle when they had the dyno's set up by one of the major fuel manufaturers to show the difference in running quality fuel or higher octane fuels, where you could look into the cylinders of a production GTO that had a split fuel tank that would run 2 different quality fuels on each side of the engine, and you could see the effects of the lower quality fuels effects on the combustion chambers, they said if you were to run a higher quality fuel at all times cleaning of fuel injectors is not necessary, but using an additive every so often was great way to keep your system clean as well.

I believe this is the stuff you are talking about. Just found it myself while looking for the new stabil stuff that nobody seems to carry around here yet, except for the marine formula. I'm giving this a try. It's not, specifically, injector cleaner, but it has cleaning agents in it. I think treating the gas goes a long way towards keeping the injectors clean.

Yes that is the Ethanol additive, the Upper Cylinder formula is more for keeping the Injectors clean, I buy a small bottle and a large one for cost savings and just refill the small bottle to put in my tank, and use the Ethanol additive for car storage and for fuel for my snowblower & mower by mixing it in a 6 gallon container and use as needed, also the Lucas Ethanol is 1oz per 5 gallons and Stabil is 2oz per.

I expected that Stabil is probably more expensive per treatment. Lucas makes good products. As I said, the ethanol treatment is not a specific injector cleaner but it has cleaning agents in it for the entire fuel system. But my experience has been that if you use clean fuel or use something to keep it clean, the less the need to clean the injectors specifically.

I'm not really big on using seafoam as a regular additive. I've had mechanics tell me it can eat up seals over time. It's good stuff for an overall system treatment now and then but I wouldn't pour it in my gas everytime I'm at the pump. But that's just my opinion.
