Default What Heads to get?

I have a 00 C5 that I want to upgrade the heads. I have LT's, Blackwing, ported T/B, ported LS6 intake, and Corsa exhaust as my only mods. Not interested in a bigger cam, just heads. I have taller valve covers also, so maybe a good rocker arm upgrade as well. Any suggestions?

I would suggest a bigger cam just stay small and get some heads to match make a nice easy to drive setup. I assume you don't want a cam for drivability issues but a cam does not have to mean hard to drive.

Heads alone aren't going to get you much, at all. A larger cam makes the engine need more air, and that's where heads help.

As mentioned, you can get a smallish cam to get some good numbers with still good driveability.

But if you're intent on heads, my only suggestion would be to get a set of used 243's from a C6. Direct bolt on replacement and you can find a set for about $400. Spending thousands on Trickflows or AFRs would be a waste.

Waste of time and money to do heads only. You can pick up some power heads only but for the money vs what you will gain ...not worth it . Better off doing a cam with stock heads and the rest of mods

I installed a set of Patriot Stage 2 heads with 59cc chambers on my 04 ($1095). I also went with a cam though. Made a big difference over what I had.

depends on budget. you can get a set of 243 heads for 350 from ebay and spend a few hundred to have them resealed, valve job and milled for a 20 or so hp boost.

DO NOT open the engine up, just for heads.

Stage 2 heads, Patriot or the like with springs, 224 228 cam 113
time chain, and a tune.

Nothing too wild, but you will like the ride

Your present heads have decent flow. The problem is-----to make
the expense of the heads and installation worth while you will need to spend-----------------------------------------
more money ( not 4or5 hunded) say 2500 to 3000. These
kinds of heads will flow well even with a stock cam. And they will
be worth the expense in the end.
Don't listen to just my thoughts ask a professional and they will
agree with me . Been there done that.
will good flow even with a stock cam.

So some think just getting better flowing heads is a waste without a bigger cam?

Plenty more power can be made with stock heads. There are cars running stock heads but with a cam like the G5X3 from LG, with long tubes, putting down 450hp.

Don't waste your money.

Get a mild Cam and go for some 5.3 heads and have them ported by AI. I have to agree that heads alone won't gain you much. If you are looking for seat of the pants feel, change your gear to a 4.10 and leave everything else alone! You will love it!

This is a great option, however, I would still want to have a fresh VJ
mill and put new spring/seals on which can cause the total expendature
to rise to 8-900 dollars. The gain would be about 20-25 rwhp even with
the stock cam since the compression will jump about 3 tenths. I'd
probably send the stock 241 heads to Advanced Inductions for a sweet
cnc job/springs, etc. and ask Phil what cam he'd suggest for stock-like
driving manners. Something in the 218-226 duration range. This heads/
cam sorta setup will usually be worth 60-70 rwhp.

I opted to send off my 243's for a port, polish, mil (.59cc) along with G5X2, ported FAST 92, supporting mods... I am right at 450to the tires... didn't break the bank either... Doing heads, w/o cam is like having a beautiful woman with no @@@@@... just not right.
