Default Hard Top for Convertible C5?

Hello Forum 5's,

Looking at buying a new to me c5 convertible and got to wondering if any aftermarket tops or conversions have been done to add a hard top for the convertible...

I'm aware all the previous gens have them... but I haven't seen any for C5's. Has anyone made their own from something like this (cut from a FRC) ?

Thanks for the time and expertise. --Stroh

I know I have seen one at Bloomington Gold but it was years ago and I can't remember what company made them. They where very well done but expensive if my memory serves me right.

That Smoothline is the ticket! At 2100, you are right that they are not cheap. But that is slick.

Anybody around here have one that can shoot a review/rating/customer satisfaction eval type thing my way.

I don't want to put the cart before the horse, but I'm not buying a vert without at least the possibility of adding a hardtop later.

I hope they're as good as they look. Many many thanks.

There was a smoothline for sale recently in the parts for sale section. They don't come up here often and pretty it was still available.

I believe a few people have used the Z06 style roof. It's worth looking into as hard top verts are awesome.

There is one for sale on the Indianapolis craigslist that sounds nice but is pretty expensive. There is a really cheap one on the Lexington Ky craigslist. I think there are a range of options available that affect the pricing on these.

This can be done and looks just like frc and you will still gave soft top under it, I saw it recently on here. I will post a pick when I find it.
Looks way better than aftermarket tops to me.

That would be mine. Here is a pic from another angle. I do like this top it is like a completely different car when I put it on and then again when I take it off. I am looking into cutting off the front half and installing the rear targa top trim so I can pop off the targa top on those nice days in the middle of the cold spring.Name: 2014-06-12 11.28.46.jpg

Thanks everyone! You guys are awesome! Looks like I'll like it in the C5 section as much as the C3. This forum has been absolutely incredible since I joined whenever it was. Just an incredible resource full of really good people. Thanks.

Do you have any close up shots of the latch area and of it closed along windshield ? Can you tell it opens by looking? I think you should sell me that one and make a new one to cut up

Funny I looked but I have no pictures with it just closed I'll take a couple this weekend when I get home. When it's closed it looks just like an FRC even where the top contacts the top of the windshield header. On the inside it has a full headliner and attaches on the windshield header with the same latches as the convertible top, it utilizes the same four bolts in the back that the tonnough cover uses. It takes two people to put it on and off my buddy and I get it done in about 15 minuets

Hardtops on Verts look great. I have a hardtop for my 69. Unless it's your daily driver, it kinda defeats the point of having a Vert though. My hardtop sits in my basement and will likely never go on her.

Thanks,
It's close to a z06 top but a bit different, not bad but I like the z06 top better
