Default Anyone installed Hella Horns?

I am looking at maybe replacing my stock horns with one of these - any suggestions/comments? The Hella Horns say they are a direct replacement for horns in cars with 2-horns already installed - does the C5 have two horns?

I assume these are the very loud horns some guys put on there trucks? why would you need a horn this loud? Is your current horn not working and you just want to replace it with somthing louder?

I have yet to hear someone do this on a vette. Love watching the videos online of *******s scaring people

I had Hella horns on my sportbike. They were freakin' loud. Great safety feature on a bike, or a Corvette.

I have had my C5 6-1/2 years and until last week don't think I had ever even honked the horn once. Anyway, last week one of those 3-1/2 story tall pickup trucks nearly ran over me as I am sitting there helpless making this puny little "toot" sound - he never even heard me - just got lucky. But with everyone on the cel phone, windows up, UniqueAutosports boom box shaking the earth, I thought I might get something that would give me a fighting chance to be noticed in a situatuion like that.

Try air horns or the train horns

I want a louder horn also. Something similar happened to me, woman in a van backing up at a stop sign. Just glad I could back up in time. I am looking for an air horn. I have heard some nice ones like on a Ferrari

Just stay away from that compact air horn they sell. It's not that impressive. I have one in my Benz.

That's the truth - you have to really make sure that the only option is certain death before hitting the horn - if it turns out you are wrong and you see a shotgun begin to emerge from the truck's window, the best thing is to jump out of the Corvette and start screaming at it while kicking the tires in rage. The only thing that gives them more satisfaction than shooting somone is a free show featuring a disgruntled Corvette owner pissed off at his own car because the horn goes off by itself. As long as they are convinced you are miserable, they feel like their work is done.

Save your money. Go to the wrecker and find a three horn set-up off of an old Cadillac. $5-$10. Those were LOUD. I put a set on my Miata, and Ram 3500 diesel trucks would move over.

Only issue with your suggestion is having to rewire the C5 horn electrical connector.
Appreciate the response.

Many years ago I used to run (on another vehicle) what were sold as Maserati air horns. Bought them in England on a business trip. They were the so-called "double high" type - short trumpets on both, and they let put what could only be described as a high pitched scream. Got people's attention for sure, but annoyed folks too.
